1. Playing at Cavern. Took Pat. Police trouble.
2. Bought new neck (?) for cellar. Alan's dad broke it.
3. Bought fan for cellar, £9. Alan removed boards. Leaves more room.
4. Went to Chester in van with Alan Thompson. Went on rowing boats. Went to Regent with Pat.
5. Stayed in. Cold out.
6. Went to Cavern with Pat to see Beryl Bryden. Sister Rosetta Thorpe and Mick Mulligan also turned up.
7. Went to Sefton Park in afternoon with Pat. Had tea at ours and went to pictures.
8. Back to work. Easy day. Played at Morgue in evening. Took Pat. Got 100 in.
10. Played at Cavern. Took Pat. Alan goes to London tomorrow.
11. Alan bought guitar and washboard down to basement. Had session. Went to Regent with Pat to see 'The Stooge.'
12. Phil's party. over water. Took Pat. Good night. Slept there.
13. Got back from party at 10am.
14. New boy started. Went to Regent to see 'A King In New York.' Good.
15. Played at cellar. Took Pat. Good crowd.
17. Played at cellar. Took Pat. Mrs T. said we would have to close for five weeks.

19. Had row with Pat. Stayed in and watched the snow.
20. Rang Pat up in afternoon. Stayed in and watched the snow.
21. Went to Regent with Pat. Missed last 61 bus.
22. Played at cellar, took Pat. Cellar closing till 19th June.
23. Wrote to Majorca. Mr Brown and Co came round to Mrs Thompson's to say that the cellar must end.
24. Practiced for Cavern. Bass player from Hi-Fives.
25. Cavern. Played okay but Jeff annoyed because he never played bass. Took Pat.
26. Went to Regent with Pat. Good night.
27. Went to Pat's house in evening.
28. Went to Regent with Pat to see 'Dr Jekyll's Daughter.' Okay.
29. Stayed in and watched television.
30. Had row with Pat. Called in at 'Swan' and left card.

May
1. Went to Curzon with Pat to see 'Around The World In 80 Days.' Good.
3. Went to Riverboat Shuffle with Pat. Wrote after two jobs.
4. Went to Rhyl in Alan Thompson's van with two girls. Good ride.
6. Went to Pete's to see his guitar. Bob Thomas also brought his new one around. Had session in hut.
7. Wrote after four jobs.
9. Went to Regent with Pat.
10. (Sat). Got three replies. went to Freemans for interview. Darktown on.
11. Went to see Dickie Bishop at Cavern.
12. Took day off to go to two interviews. No good. Met Pat in Lime Street and went to Lyons. To Regent in evening.
13. Failed two jobs. Back to work.
14. Went to auction. Alan got case and guitar.
15. Had row with Pat. Got article in Express. Practiced in cellar for University.
16. Decided to go to Butlin's, 7 - 14th June. Last week in August off with Pat.
17. University. Went with Pat to get drainies. Took Pat to University.
18. Went to Regent with Pat to see 'Teenage Frankenstein.' Wrote to Luxembourg.
21. George's Restaurant. No good. Try to get washboard. Spud played bass. Took Pat.
22. Practiced in Alan's bedroom.
23. Cavern. Played good. Had row with Rikki. Paid us £2.10s.
24. Went to Burtonwood with Craig. Got shirt. Leather jacket?
26. Went to Harrison Drive with Alan. Played golf. Went to Cavern with Pat.
31. Went to see 'Bridge On The River Kwai' with Pat. Very good.

June
1. Party. Very good. Got jacket and jeans.
2. Got up at 12.
3. Went to Regent with Pat. Craig goes back today.
5. Stayed in. Had bag and pack most of my stuff.
6. Pack gear. Alan and I had to take Crossville Bus departing at midnight.
7. Good coach ride to Butlin's.
8. Went to theatre for auditions. Got big hand.
9. Found bass and washboard player. Took two girls to chalet in evening.
10. Went horse riding. Saddle sore. Went to bar where Clinton Ford was on. Al and me did two songs.
11. Went to baths.
12. People finals. Got through and win free holiday, and £3. Played at Continental with Clinton Ford.
13. Last day. Had a good laugh in evening, pulled beds onto lawns.
14. Packed gear, got coach and went to Pat's in evening.
16. Went to Regent to see 'Babyface Nelson.' Good. Pat in Belgium.
20. Went to Pat's after Wilson Hall.
23. Went to see 'Young Lions' at Curzon with Pat. Asked for rise.
26. Our photo in Express.
27. Went to town in afternoon and Picasso club with Paul and Pat in the evening.
28. Watched World Cup on tele.

July
2. University. Crazy nite. Played okay.
5. Went to Town. Haircut. Went to Cavern.
6. Went to Harrison Drive. Played good.
8. Walk with Pat to Jackson's Lake in evening.
9. Interview. Not bad. Stayed in during evening.
10. Mother's birthday. Gave her money, Pat sent card.
11. Off work with cold. Pat brought my wages in evening.
14. Went to 'Belles Of St. Trinian's' with Pat.
16. Practiced at Alan's for Liverpool Show.
17. Liverpool Show. Los Toros and Merseysippi also played. We didn't play too bad. Went back to my house with Pat.
18. Oscar's last day.
20. Dentist rang up to say Pat had job.
21. Pat gave a week's notice. Went with Mike to see 'Pal Joey.'
22. Practice for Cavern with Alan and Tony. New guitarist didn't arrive.
24. Mr. Davies got fired. Firm may pack up. Went to Employment Exchange.
25. Cavern. Played good. Rikki cancelled dates. Spud thrown out. Went back to Pat's and to Employment Exchange again.
27. Watched Alan running. Pat finished pullover.
31. Bought Pat some bath-salts for making pullover.
