17. Saw 'City Of The Dead' with Pauline, like her a lot, not crazy on her.

18. Jive Hive, Sampson and Barlow's, played good at both places. Was walking back and Rory caught up in van with two girls. Went to Black Rose. Went with other girl and stayed all night.

19. Went to Cavern, no good.

20. Bought Everly record, 27/6d.

21. Litherland. Went to see Beatles, played ok but not many there. Was with Joan all night. Eileen was there, didn't bother with her. I love her but I'm wasting my time.

22. Hambleton. Played good. Bob Wooler got very bad stick off Les. Stayed with two girls.

25. Aintree Institute, played ok. Sampson and Barlow's, played good.

26. Liverpool Jazz Society, cancelled.

27. O.P.B., played great, packed.

28. Little Sutton, Bowaters. Van had two punctures, arrived later, played good, not a bad place, went to party in Wallasey, no good, left at 2.

3. Casbah, didn't play too good, lousy place.

4. Jive Hive, Orrell Park, Sampson and Barlow's. Played ok at all three. Black-haired girl from Butlin's asked me to go with her, didn't as Eileen was there. We went to Zodiac all nighter (Big 3), good, finished at 8 o' clock.

5. Told Donna and Toni not to go to Lowlands. Eileen was there, didn't speak. D & T left at 10.

6. Practiced. Played Liverpool Jazz Society.

7. Eileen came down, stayed in. I wish I could marry her. Went to dole.

8. Hambleton, Iron Door.

9. Litherland (?). Gene Vincent, good but empty. Had to borrow off old man to get in.

10. Lunchtime LJS. Van took us to Neston. Ringo and I played with other band, there was a fight.

11. Saw Joan get married. She looked nice. Went to Orrell, then to Iron Door all nighter, packed 800 there. Went to Zodiac to play with Big Three.

12. Went to see 'Flaming Star', then to Cassanova club.

13. Liverpool Jazz Society lunchtime. Empty, but we played.

14. Played golf at Harrison Drive.

15. LJS lunchtime. Jive Hive. Played great.

17. Skelmersdale, good. My amp broke. Trouble in Bold St. Ty got punched.

18. Jive Hive, then O.P.B. Rory and I did a spot at Zodiac. Stayed up with Eileen all night. I may get engaged to her. Amplifier broke.

20. Orrell Park. Eileen mad 'cause I was there with Joan. Had row with her.

23. Sampson's, played good, some of Dominoes in fight. Told Joan I'd finished with her 'cause of Eileen.

24. Music Hall, Shrewsbury. Pat took us, five groups on. We played good, went with girl who took my ring, gave me necklace. She's coming to Liverpool.

25. After Orrell and Jive Hive, went to Zodiac, Rory, Gerry and I played with Big 3, good session, stayed til 7 in morning. Pauline was there.

26. Casbah, played ok, row with Eileen.

28. Practiced in L.J.S. for Butlin's.

29. Butlin's dance, Garston. Played good. We landed Butlin's job.

30. Neston, good hall, lousy atmosphere. To LJS, two boys caused trouble.
