A Great Holiday

Swinging Bluejeans We recently ended our first holiday in three years and I can honestly say I've never enjoyed a holiday so much in all my life. We'd been too busy to have a holiday before, so we really looked forward to it. Norman, our road manager Barry, and myself went to Majorca - and were surprised and pleased when we were able to buy bottles of champagne for 1s 6d.

We met Rory Storm over there playing in a club and went water skiing with him - and it was while I was water skiing that I had an accident. We spent most of our time in the pool and taking advantage of the sun.

We have a return visit to Ireland commencing September 10 and we're looking forward to it because we love Ireland and think it's great. The last time we went there I was surprised how peaceful the countryside was, with no motorways and nothing to disturb the serenity. I was also surprised to find that dances lasted until 2 o' clock in the morning. We found this very helpful.

When we have to travel to a venue 150 miles away in England we start our journey about noon. In Ireland we can have a good sleep in, because we would start at 6 in the evening for a journey of the same length.

We are in Ireland for nine days and then come back on the 26th for our Scandinavian tour. We're also looking forward to the trip there because 'Hippy Hippy Shake' reached the No. 1 position in all Scandinavian countries - and we are proud of the fact that it even held the Beatles off. I believe the disc was No. 1 in Norway for nine weeks.

Immediately after our recent holiday we went to Munich for some television shows. We went around the city on our first night there - but it wasn't a patch on Hamburg. We had been looking for a beershop but couldn't find one and so we went back to our hotel and played cards.

We were up at 6.30 the next morning to film for our television show. I was amazed to find out how hard they work over there - they don't have any tea breaks at all. So soon after our holiday it was a drag working hard but it was worth it seeing that they put so much work into making it good. At seven o' clock we went around to another TV studio to record 'You're No Good' in German. After that we went back to the hotel, had a meal and went to bed.

We were up at 6.30 the next morning to fly to England for a 'Scene At 6.30' appearance. On the way we stopped off at Switzerland to try a yodel or two - but it didn't work.
